| Watershed Conditions Bulletin - March 19, 2010 |
|
Flows and levels in the creeks and rivers have begun to increase with the warmer temperatures over the last few days. While no significant flooding is expected at this time, residents in lower lying areas are advised to keep a close watch on levels as they are expected to continue to increase through the next week. With cooler temperatures and minimal precipitation forecast for next week, the rate of rise of levels and flows is expected to slow down. MVC continues to emphasize to parents that they continue to warn their children about the dangers of playing on or near ice covered surfaces or fast flowing water in ditches and smaller creeks. Ice conditions on area waterways are deteriorating rapidly with the warmer weather and area residents are advised to stay off any ice covered bodies of water at this time. Daily water levels and flows are now available on the MVC website at www.mvc.on.ca |
