Watershed Conditions Bulletin April 13, 2011
Water flows and levels within the Mississippi River system and on Dalhousie Lake will continue to increase with spring runoff and precipitation. These levels are not expected to peak until early next week.

Water flows in the Clyde River are expected to increase over the next few days but should peak at below average spring levels unless significant rainfall occurs.

Flows in the Carp River and the majority of smaller creeks in the system have already peaked and are beginning to decline.  No significant flooding is expected, however nuisance flooding may occur in low lying areas annually affected by the spring melt.

MVC will continue to monitor water flows and levels and issue updates as required.

Fast flowing water and unstable shorelines are dangerous. Residents are strongly urged to stay off all area waterways. Parents are strongly urged to continue to warn their children about dangers of hypothermia and playing near cold, fast moving water in ditches and smaller creeks.
