Watershed Conditions Bulletin August 12, 2008 |
|
This is a watershed conditions bulletin to update member municipalities regarding current conditions across the Mississippi River watershed.
Flows along the river have increased substantially due to the rainfall events over the past two weeks. While flows are much higher than normal for this time of year, there is no threat of flooding.
Watershed dams are being operated to manage the increased flows. These areas are extremely dangerous for recreational users of the river system. Residents and visitors are advised to stay well clear of any watershed dam while swimming, boating or fishing to avoid being caught in strong currents and pulled into the dam.
