LOCATION:
Dalhousie Lake is located in the newly amalgamated Township of Lanark Highlands, Northwest of McDonalds Corners.

Maximum Depth - 13.4 metres
Perimetre - 13.5 kilometres
Length - 4.9 kilometres
Width - 0.8 kilometres

QUALITY:
In general the water quality in Dalhousie Lake is good. The average Secchi Disk reading in 2001 was 2.8 metres indicating a moderately enriched (some nutrients) or mesotrophic lake. Directly related to water clarity is the amount of nutrients entering the lake, in particular phosphorus. The Provincial Water Quality Objective for Total Phosphorus for Dalhousie Lake is 20 micrograms per litre. The mean for the euphotic zone (penetration of light) for 2001 was 10.1 micrograms per litre indicating a moderately enriched lake. The mean for the sample taken one metre off the bottom was quite high at 75.3 micrograms per litre indicating a enriched (too many nutrients) or euphotic lake. Chlorophyll a is a measure of the algal density in the lake. The average chlorophyll a densities for the sampling station in 2001 was 2.92 micrograms per litre indicating a moderate algal density for Dalhousie Lake in 2001.
