WATERSHED WATCH MARBLE LAKE LOCATION: Marble Lake is located in the Township of North Frontenac, north of Highway # 506 SIZE / DEPTH: Perimeter - 9.6 kilometres Length - 2.9 kilometres Maximum Depth - 23 metres Width - 0.6 kilometres Surface area - 1.76 kilometres squared. QUALITY: In general the water quality of Marble Lake is good. Total Phosphorous levels have increased 1.1 micrograms per litre. However, levels remain below the Provincial Water Quality Objectives of 20 micrograms per litre. Chlorophyll a, the green pigment found in algae, has decreased marginally by 0.48 micrograms per litre since 1976. Levels average 1.2 micrograms/litre. Marble Lake is classified as a mesotrophic lake or a moderately enriched lake with some nutrients.
