Palmerston Lake is located approximately 2 kilometres east of Ompah on Highway # 509, then 5 kilometres north on Canonto Road.

Length - 6.0 kilometres
Width - 0.9 kilometres
Shoreline - 29 kilometres
Mean Depth - 20.6 metres
Maximum Depth - 56.40 metres

QUALITY:
In general the water quality in Palmerston Lake is very good. The Provincial Water Quality Objective for Total Phosphorus for Palmerston Lake is 10 micrograms per litre. The average calculated from the total phosphorus results for 2000 for the euphotic zone (penetration of light) was 9.9 micrograms per litre, indicating an unenriched lake. Chlorophyll a is a measure of the algal density in the lake. The average chlorophyll a densities in 2000 was 0.71 micrograms per litre indicating a low algal density.
